Yin and Yang. Light and Dark. Exuberance and Tranquility. Try harnessing these qualities within one project. There you have my style of painting and creation.
Vigorously placed lines and intuitively placed colors fight for the right to co-exist. Bright colors on light mottled grounds battle with large surfaces swathed in deep rich hues for the privilege to be displayed.
All this conflict goes on in my mind, of course. All my life experiences, good and bad, are pouring into the work, while I try to create a cohesive whole. I’m looking for an image that has strong sense of seriousness and meaning, yet also has a sense of humor and is pleasing to the eye.
Like a Brewmaster, creating beers from pale ales to flavored pilsners to dark stouts, my work shows variety in styles and flavors. I don’t want to be stuck in one particular style. I want to continue to grow in my work and life.
